⚓ Storm Tossed but Still Anchored

Day 51 of 90 days Through the New Testament

Daily reading 2 Corinthians 4-6

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

I've been on many boats over the years, Battle ships anchored, Cruise ships, glass bottom boats and more... There's something about standing on deck when the sky turns gray and the wind starts to shift that makes you realize how small you are and how mighty your Anchor truly is.Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 4 hit like salt spray on the face.. We're pressed, but not crushed; knocked around, but not defeated. The waves may be fierce, but our Anchor still holds. In Spite of the Storm...

Every storm tells a story. The scars on our hearts and the cracks in our hulls are proof that we've sailed through some things. But the light of Christ still shines through every weathered place. He's the reason this old ship hasn't gone under.

Paul says that when we're in Christ, we become a new creation. It's like being recommissioned... same ship, new purpose. The flag we once sailed under comes down, and a new one is raised... The banner of grace. His Banner over me is Love!!!

This week, as we honor our veterans, I can't help but think of the brave men and women who have stood their post through storms of their own. Defending freedom, holding the line, staying anchored when others might have drifted. Their steadfastness mirrors the call Paul gives us: to endure with courage, to fight the good fight, to serve with honor even when the seas grow rough.

Paul reminds us not to receive God's grace in vain, in sailor's terms, don't ignore the lighthouse when it's calling you home. When others doubt your course or the storm clouds gather, hold fast. Drop anchor in His truth, and let the peace of Christ steady your ship.

So When the winds rise and the waves roar....

You're not crushed - you're building strength.

You're not abandoned - the Captain's still at the wheel.

You're not destroyed - you're being renewed for the next voyage!!!

You may be storm tossed, but you're still anchored. And that anchor isn't a thing, it's a Person. Christ Himself is what holds us steady when everything else gives way.
