Different Voices, Same Savior
Day 19 of 90 Days Through the New Testament
Daily Reading Luke 13-15
One of the things I love most about the Gospels is how Matthew, Mark, and Luke each tell the same story a little differently.
It’s like watching the same miracle from three different camera angles and all together, we get a fuller picture of who Jesus really is.
That makes me think about all of us.
We each have our own way of sharing the Gospel, our own background, our own story, our own voice.
Some of us teach, some encourage, some create, some serve quietly behind the scenes. But all of us are telling the same story: Jesus saves. Jesus heals. Jesus is enough.
But Luke 14 reminds us that telling His story and living it comes with a cost.
Jesus said, “Whoever does not carry their own cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.” And then He gave the example of a builder who laid a foundation but couldn’t finish the project because he didn’t count the cost first. (Luke 14:27–30)
How many times have we started building something God told us to do, a ministry, a dream, a vision but got weary halfway through?
We laid the foundation, but the structure never came.
Not because we weren’t called, but because we didn’t stop long enough to count what it would take to finish.
Following Jesus isn’t just about starting strong.... It’s about finishing.
Building for God takes more than excitement. It takes endurance, surrender, and a willingness to pay the price.
When you choose to say yes to Jesus, you join the same mission Matthew, Mark, and Luke were on, to tell His story your way, through your life.
You may not write a Gospel, but you’re still living one.
Your obedience becomes the ink, and your story becomes the testimony that points others to Him.
So today, find your voice.
Use your story.
And remember, it’s okay if your version looks a little different from someone else’s.
The world doesn’t need another echo; it needs your angle of the story of Jesus.
Just make sure, before you build, you’ve counted the cost — and that your foundation is laid on Him.
