Day 20 of 90 day Through the New Testament
Daily Reading Luke 16-18
I sat with a friend yesterday who shared with me that she had been ready to give up, ready to quit, right before her miracle came. Her words hit me hard because I’ve been there too. That place where you’ve prayed, cried, hoped, and waited until you feel like you can’t do it anymore. When you start thinking, Maybe I misheard God. Maybe I’m asking for too much. Maybe it’s just not meant to be.
But what if the enemy fights the hardest right before the breakthrough?
What if the silence isn’t God’s absence, but His preparation?
What if our mustard-seed faith is doing more underground than we realize?
Luke 17 reminds us that even the smallest faith, a mustard seed’s worth, is enough to move mountains. It just takes the decision not to quit. The seed doesn’t look like much, but it’s alive. It’s growing roots before it ever breaks the surface.
I thought about that as my friend talked. She had been on the edge of quitting, but instead of walking away, she prayed one more prayer, took one more step, believed one more time and that’s when God moved.
How many times have I done the opposite?
How many times have I packed it up and gone home just before the miracle was about to break through.
Sometimes the hardest place to stay is right before.
Right before you see the healing.
Right before the door opens.
Right before the answer comes.
But that’s where mustard-seed faith lives, in the “not yet.” It’s small, but it’s stubborn. It’s the kind of faith that whispers, I’ll hold on one more day.
So if you’re tired today, if you’re ready to walk away, just pause. Take a breath. Plant your mustard seed right there in the middle of your doubt and pain.
God’s not finished yet.
