🌱 School Year Prayer Journey — Week 5: RESPECT
We prepared the ground. Now we keep planting.
So far, we’ve planted Love, Wisdom, Truth, and Kindness. This week, we’re planting RESPECT.
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” — Luke 6:31
Respect feels like one of those things we’re constantly telling kids: Respect your teacher. Respect your classmates. Respect school property. Respect yourself.
But respect isn’t just something we teach kids. It’s something they need to see us live.
🍎 Teachers & Staff — Lord, help us show mutual respect in every classroom, conversation, correction, and decision. Even when patience is running thin, help us remember there is a person behind the behavior.
🎒 Students — Teach our kids to respect themselves, their classmates, their teachers, and their school. Help them understand that they don’t have to agree with someone, like someone, or even understand someone to treat them with dignity and kindness.
🏡 Parents & Families — Help us model respect at home—in the way we speak to our children, about their teachers, and about other people. Our kids are listening to more than the lessons we intentionally teach them.
🏫 Our Schools — Let respect become part of the culture of our schools. May students and adults alike feel seen, heard, valued, and safe.
And Lord, remind us that respect goes both ways. We can’t demand from the next generation what we aren’t willing to demonstrate in front of them.
This week, we plant RESPECT. 🌱
Small seeds. Faithful prayers. And we trust God with the growth. ❤️
