“Jesus Plus Nothing”
Daily Reading Galatians 1-3
This devotion is coming a little later than usual.
I went home sick yesterday, spent the night miserable, and only this morning am I finally starting to feel the fog lift.
But as I opened Galatians 1-3, one thing hit me loud and clear this morning...
It's Jesus - not Jesus plus something else.
Paul spends three chapters reminding the church and honestly, reminding me today that...
Your calling didn't come from people - it came from God. (Gal. 1)
You are made right with God by faith, not by performance. (Gal. 2)
You started this walk by the Spirit, not by striving. (Gal. 3)
And this morning, in my tired, achy, "running behind" self, that truth felt like a breath of fresh air.
God doesn't require perfect mornings or perfect strength.
He only asks for a willing heart.
Even on the late, messy, foggy days, Jesus is still enough.
Not Jesus + energy.
Not Jesus + performance.
Not Jesus + having it all together.
Just Jesus.
That's more than enough for me today.
