“Live Resurrected”
Day 30 of 90 days thru the New Testament
Daily reading John Chapter 20-21
We don’t just serve a God who died on the cross.
We serve a risen Savior.
I’ve been reading a book lately that talks about the authority of the believer. One part really stuck out to me, it said that as Christians, we often teach and cling to the message of the cross, but we tend to stop there. We never move forward fully into the power of the resurrection.
That power is ours too, but we don’t always walk in it. We stay focused on the cross, on forgiveness, on salvation, on what Jesus did and forget that He’s no longer hanging there. He’s alive.
When I read John chapter 20 today, it became so real to me. The disciples were hiding behind locked doors, afraid, even though Jesus had risen. Mary stood weeping at the tomb, not realizing the miracle had already happened. The stone was rolled away, but her eyes were still fixed on the grave.
How often do we do the same thing? We cry at the tomb of what we think is dead, our dreams, our hope, our purpose... While Jesus is standing right behind us calling our name.
The message of the cross is forgiveness.
The message of the resurrection is authority.
At the cross, sin was defeated.
At the resurrection, death was defeated.
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us (Romans 8:11). That means the same power that rolled the stone away is available to us today, to speak life, to break chains, to walk in boldness, and to live in victory.
Maybe today is your John 20 moment.
Maybe God is calling you out of the tomb, reminding you that you were never meant to stay in the place of mourning, you were meant to move in resurrection power.
Don’t just live forgiven.
Live resurrected!!!
