When Israel asked for A King

We're in Samuel Chapter 8 this morning. And as I was reading this chapter, I couldn't help but think about how often we do the same thing.

We say we trust God. Until His way looks different than everyone else's. Then suddenly we start looking around and wondering if we're missing something.

Israel traded being led by God for being like everybody else. One of the greatest temptations for believers isn't rebellion.

                          It's comparison.

It's looking at what everyone else has and deciding God's plan for us isn't enough. But God never called His people to blend in.

He called us to be set apart.

And Thats the question 1 Samuel 8 leaves us with this morning....

Are we following God's voice or are we just trying to be like everyone else?

Because what looks normal isn't always what God is calling us to. ❤️
