This is our time down here

So here we are....Day 6 of being snowed in.

No school. No running around. No "I gotta be somewhere in 10 minutes."Just me, my house, and a whole lot of time.

And we're in Exodus 19 today. The Israelites had finally made it out of Egypt. They had this huge miracle, life changing, never going back kind of moment and then God tells them to stop and camp at the mountain. Don't rush ahead. Don't start building stuff. Just stop. Sit. Be still. I want to meet with you.

And I’m realizing how rare that actually is. Not just back then but even now, even with our all access pass to God....Most of the time I'm praying on the go. Thinking about God while I'm doing three other things.Telling Him I'm listening but also halfway checking my phone.

But this week... There's nowhere to go. No distractions. No excuses. Just a lot of quiet and a lot of space to actually notice Him.

And I know once the ice melts, we'll all jump right back into the rat race. Schedules, chaos, obligations, noise. Back to "I'll get back into my Bible when things slow down."

But things are slow right now.

      This is the mountain.

           This is the pause.

This is the part we always say we want until we actually get it.

I don't want to miss this moment. I don't want to rush through it or wish it away. Because sometimes God doesn't need to speak louder

He just needs us to finally be still long enough to hear Him.

And it kind of feels like that Scene from The Goonies when they're stuck in the well...Do they keep going, keep looking for the treasure or do they give up and ride the bucket to Safety....

“This is our time down here.”

Not forever. Not permanent.

But right now... This moment....

This is our time to listen.

To breathe.

To notice God without rushing Him.

So I don't want to miss it.

Because once life starts moving again... it won't look like this.
