I think one of the greatest dangers in our walk with God isn't always failure.
Sometimes it's our success.
When life is hard, we pray. When we're waiting, we seek Him. When the answers don't come, we lean on Him. But what happens when the prayers start getting answered?
That's where Solomon was. The Temple was finished. The kingdom was thriving. People were coming from all over the world to hear his wisdom. Everything was finally falling into place.
And right then God reminds him....
"Keep walking with Me."
That reminder isn't just for Solomon. It's for us too. It's easy to become so focused on the blessings that we slowly stop depending on the One who blessed us. We get busy building. Busy serving. Busy chasing the next thing. And before we know it, we've started trusting what God has given us more than God Himself.
The goal has never been to just get to the next season. The goal has always been to walk with Him through every season.
Whether we're waiting or celebrating, Whether doors are closing or opening, Whether we're in the valley or standing on the mountaintop....We still need Jesus. We need Him every bit as much today as we did when we first called on His name.
The greatest blessing God gives us isn't success. It's His presence.
