Jesus at the Center of It All

Ok, so today kind of feels like a repeat at first. But alot of the Bible does..And when something repeats itself in Scripture its really important that we pay close attention.

Moses is going back over the Ten Commandments. He's not talking to the same group anymore. This is the next generation, the ones who are actually about to step into the Promise Land, and he's making sure they don't miss what matters most before they get there. He takes them back to Mount Sinai, back to when God spoke directly to them. And Moses says something to them that stood out to me "The Lord made a covenant not only with your fathers, but with us who are here today." (5:3) He's telling them that this isn't just history, it's not just the story of the past Generations, this is their story too.

And then you get into chapter 6, and it all just kind of settles in. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Everything is being brought back to this one thing, your relationship with God.

Because if that's right, everything else falls into place.

And I love how real Moses makes it after that. He doesn't leave it up in the clouds, he brings it right down into everyday life talking about God when you're sitting at home, when you're walking, when you're laying down, when you wake up. Basically all the normal, in between moments.

That's where I tend to drift the most. Not in some big dramatic way, just slowly. I Get busy.

I'm Thinking about everything else first. Filling my day up before I ever really stop and center myself with Him. And it's not that God isn't there, He is. He's just not at the center like He should be.

And this didn't feel like correction today, it felt like a gentle pull back. A reminder before they get off track, before they even get to promise. Let's get back to God at the center of it all. And that's what I'm taking from today. Not a pressure to be perfect or over complicating the process like I tend to do. But making sure He's not something I just add into my day but that he's the center of it.

    So today lets ask ourselves...

Is God apart of our everyday life or do we only reach for Him in certain moments?

Day 3 just feels like a reset.

Nothing heavy. Nothing complicated.

Just bringing us back to the center of it all.
