Week 8

🌱 School Year Prayer Journey — Week 8: PATIENCE 💧

We planted the seeds. Now we’re watering them.

We’ve prayed for Prayer and Faithfulness, and this week we’re watering something that can be a whole lot harder:

Patience.

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.” — James 5:7 NLT

I love that James uses a farmer here, because it fits exactly where we are in this journey.

You can’t plant a seed today, water it tomorrow, and dig it up the next day because you don’t see anything happening. 😂

But don't we do that?

We pray. We show up. We pour into our kids. We teach the lesson again. We have the same conversation again. We correct the same behavior again. And somewhere along the way we start wondering, Is any of this actually working?

Growth takes time.

🍎 Teachers & Staff — Lord, give us patience in the hard moments, the repeated lessons, the difficult behaviors, and the progress that feels painfully slow. Help us remember that what we’re planting today may produce fruit long after that student leaves our classroom.

🎒 Students — Help our students understand that they don’t have to know everything immediately. Give them patience with themselves as they learn, grow, make mistakes, and try again.

🏡 Parents & Families — Give us patience at home. In the rushed mornings, homework struggles, attitudes, growing pains, and all the unknowns, help us keep showing up and speaking life over our children.

🏫 Our Schools — Let patience become part of our school culture. Give teachers, administrators, staff, students, and families grace for one another as we continue walking through this school year together.

Here’s what I’m reminding myself this week:

Just because I can't see growth doesn't mean nothing is growing.

There’s a whole lot happening underneath the dirt before that little green sprout ever breaks through the surface.

So we don't dig up the seed.

We keep watering.

We keep praying.

We stay faithful.

And we trust God's timing. 💧🌱

This week, we water PATIENCE.
