Learning how to Live Free

It's not easy talking about learning to live free when you've been trapped in the house for a week.

I know you can't compare it to what the Israelites went through and so many people around the world even now still have it so much worse.

🌟 But...I'm starting to lose it a little in here. 🌟

And it kind of makes the whole idea hit closer to home. Exodus 21 is God teaching His people how to live. What's right and What's wrong. How to handle conflict. How to treat people. How to take responsibility.

    Why....Because freedom isn't automatic.

You can leave Egypt physically and still carry it mentally.(Just take that in for a moment)

They were no longer in chains. But their thinking was still shaped by the chains. They were free from Pharaoh, But not free from fear. Free from forced labor, But still living in survival mode. Free from the system, But not free from the mindset of it.

So God steps in and starts re-teaching them everything. How to live with boundaries. How to treat people with dignity. How to handle anger without violence. How to deal with mistakes without destroying each other. Because if He didn't....They would have recreated Egypt in the wilderness.

New location but the Same dysfunction. It actually reminds me of people who've spent years in prison. They're finally released but they don't know how to function in normal life.

They're used to being told when to eat. When to sleep. Where to go. What they're allowed to do. And when that structure is suddenly gone, freedom feels overwhelming.

So sometimes without even realizing it they do things to get themselves sent back. Not because they want prison, But because it's familiar. It's Safe in a strange way. That's what bondage does. It trains your nervous system. It rewires your instincts. It teaches you how to survive not how to live.

We do the same thing spiritually. God sets us free from things. Old pain, Old trauma, Old cycles, Old labels, But then we walk into our new life still thinking like the old version of ourselves.

Still bracing for harm.

Still self-sabotaging.

Still pushing people away.

Still recreating patterns God already delivered us from.

We're out, set free, But part of us is still back there.

Exodus 21 is God showing them that they dont have to live like that anymore. They dont have to fight for everything or control everything. You dont have to Destroy things before they can hurt you or Run back to what's familiar just because it's comfortable and safe. Freedom isn't just about where you are. It's about how you think. And sometimes the hardest part of freedom is learning how to live in a world you were never trained for.

God didn't just rescue them.He Re-taught them how to be human again.

Real freedom isn't just leaving Egypt....

It's finally believing you don’t belong there anymore. And Living like it!
