He appointed them, And then He Provided

Maybe it's because provision is so heavily on my mind but as I began to read Numbers chapter 7 that is what I saw instantly.

God has just numbered and separated and placed each tribe, and each person into the positions they are called to do....Then he anointed the temple and everything in it and all of the leaders of every tribe show up with their offerings...and part of those offerings were Wagons and oxen..Exactly what the Levites needed to do the job God had called them to do. He appointed them and then he provides what they would need.

He didn’t just give them responsibilities, He didn't just hand them an assignment and say, Figure it out. Make it happen. He positioned them and then He made sure the supply was there. The wagons and oxen weren't random gifts. They were perfect provision for a specific calling.

The Levites had been set apart to carry the Tabernacle, the very presence of God among the people. And before they ever had to move it God stirred the leaders to bring exactly what was needed to carry it. He appointed them and then He provided what they would need.

   I love that so much!

Because I've been there. I've felt the weight of the calling before there was provision in sight. Sometimes we see the assignment and wonder how in the world it's ever going to happen. But Numbers 7 shows us just how God works.

God numbers.

God separates.

God places.

God anoints.

God provides.

And the The provision matched the position. So if He has placed you somewhere, if He has called you to something, if He has counted you in, then He already knows what it will require.

He doesn't appoint without Provision.

He doesn't assign us to something without equipping us.

He appointed them and then He provided what they would need....I just keep coming back to that. It's so encouraging to me and gives me a peace that I'm not in this alone. God will provide.

When God calls, when He positions you, He prepares the way.

He appointed them.

And He provided.

But it doesn't end there. I love the end of the Chapter Numbers 7:89 "Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there."

I love that part...Did you catch that...After the Tabernacle was anointed and dedicated and everyone was in place, the scripture says "Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak to the lord heard the voice" "The lord Spoken to him there" Whenever! Every time...He heard from the Lord....We can hear his voice too..He can speak to us "whenever "...And we don't have to offer sacrifice or have someone speak to him for us.. We are the temple, the Holy Spirit lives in us and we can hear his voice Whenever.....All the time..We just have to Prepare our hearts and Listen.
