Anointed Temper Tantrum

Good morning Friends....

I can sum up Judges 14 in one sentence...

Anointed, Called, Set apart and still acting like a toddler who didn’t get his way.

             An Anointed Temper Tantrum.

Thats what we're seeing here. Samson sees a woman and says Get her for me, for she pleases me well. He doesn't ask or seek God. He just wants it and he wants it now. He's already acting like an over grown Child. Then a few verses later, the Spirit of the Lord comes on him and he tears a lion apart.

So let’s be clear this man is absolutely anointed. But then he turns right around, touches what he shouldn’t, stirs up a mess at his own wedding, and when it all falls apart

the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he kills 30 men to settle a bet.

                Let me ask you something.

Have you ever thrown one?

Maybe not like that, But have you ever reacted out of frustration, snapped when things didn’t go your way, pushed, pouted, or shut down until you got relief orjustified your response because you were hurt, tired, or right....

Still called.

Still gifted.

Still love God.

But in that moment, That was a tantrum.

And We’re not just seeing this in ourselves we’re also seeing it in the church.

Offense turning into division. Leaders reacting instead of responding. People tearing each other down when things don’t go their way. Emotional reactions being dressed up as righteous passion.

And all the while God is still moving. The Spirit is still present. The calling is still there.

Which makes it even more dangerous. Because the presence of anointing can make us think the behavior is okay.

Samson shows us that he was clearly empowered by God but he was not lead by God.

He was moving in strength but lacking self control.

And Judges 14 is just the beginning of that pattern. Just because God uses you doesn’t mean He’s endorsing every action and reaction. Real maturity is when your emotions don’t control you, your frustration doesn’t control you and your calling doesn’t excuse your mistakes. Real strength isn’t about what you can tear down, It’s what you can hold back.

God didn’t call us to be powerful and uncontrolled. He called us to be Spirit led and self controlled. So when we feel that tension rising, we need to Pause, Check our response

and bring it back under His control.

Anointing without complete surrender to his will and way will make a mess.
