An Anointed Heart

Good Afternoon...

   Let’s Talk About Judges 15.

Samson is anointed. Called. Set apart. And yet he’s reacting, not being led by God. Judges 15 isn’t just about strength. It’s about what happens when strength is driven by emotion instead of surrendering our emotions to God.

Samson got angry and instead of taking it to God, he took it into his own hands. He's throwing another tantrum today. He tied foxes together, lit them on fire, and sent them running through the fields. And just like that, everything started burning.

But lets be honest we’ve all had moments like that right. Maybe we didn’t light literal fires but we’ve said things, done things, reacted in ways that spread faster than we meant them to. One moment, one reaction and suddenly it’s affecting everything. Its affecting our relationships, our peace, even our own spirit.

That’s what unchecked emotion does. It doesn’t stay contained. Samson was still anointed while he was acting like this. God’s Spirit still came on him. He still had power. He still won battles. But just because God is using you doesn’t mean He’s leading you in that moment.

That’s a hard truth to swallow. But it’s a necessary one.

Then after all the fighting, all the reacting, all the proving himself, Samson ends up exhausted. He's tired and thirsty. And that’s when he finally cries out to God. After he's thrown his fir and done things his way. And God, in His mercy, still answers. He brings water out of a dry place and refreshes him.

Listen....Some of us are tired not because we’re fighting the enemy but because we’ve been fighting in our own strength.

      Reacting. Defending. Proving. Pushing.

And God is saying to us "You don’t have to do it like that."

Think about it...

🏹 Have you been reacting instead of being led?

🏹 Have you let frustration speak before you let God speak?

🏹 Have you been operating in the anointing but missing the closeness of His presence?

God didn’t walk away from Samson.(well until enough was enough and he lifted the anointing from him, but we'll get to that tomorrow) But He’s not walking away from you either. Even in the mess. Even after the reaction. Even when you’re the one who lit the fire. He still meets you in the dry place.

Lets let God slow us down before we react.

Lets let him teach us to bring things to him first instead of trying to handle them ourselves. Let's not just be used by Him but be I want led by Him.

Just because we can respond doesn’t mean we always should.

Let's be led him, not triggered.
