"Whose Team Are You On?"

Day 45 of 90 days Through the New Testament

Daily Reading 1 Corinthians 1–3

Have you ever wondered why there are so many churches?

So many denominations?

So many "ways" to do the same thing, worship the same God, read the same Bible, and preach the same Jesus?

It's because people couldn't agree. Somewhere along the line, someone didn't like how something was done, the music, the preaching, the leadership and like kids on a playground they said, "Fine! I'll start my own club." And they did.

But it's nothing new. The early church did it too. Paul saw it happening in Corinth. Some were saying, "I follow Paul", others, "I follow Apollos," or "I follow Peter." Sound familiar?

Today it might sound like, "I’m Baptist," "I'm Pentecostal," "I'm non denominational but still a little denominational."

And Paul basically says, "Stop it!"

Christ isn't divided, so why are we?

He reminds them (and us) that we're all on the same team... Team Jesus.

Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.

That means no one gets to brag about who's better, smarter, louder, or holier.

When we get caught up in comparison, we stop cultivating what matters. We build our little sandcastles of opinion while forgetting that the tide belongs to God.( And the House on the sand went crash :) )

The truth is, the enemy loves division because a divided church can't stand, but a united one can shake nations.Paul says when we fight and bicker and boast, we're acting like spiritual infants.Ouch. Basically calling us Big Babies! But he's calling us to grow up, to build on the solid foundation...Jesus alone.

Not personalities, not platforms, not preferences.

If we could strip it all back...the logos, the labels, the lighting and just love Jesus and each other again, imagine what the world would see.

It's not about who watered or who planted; it's about who gave the increase.

Spoiler alert... it’s always been Jesus!

The Ark didn't have separate decks for denominations it had one door, one destination, and one Builder. Maybe it's time we remember that.

And let's be real... some people would rather hate a woman for daring to preach the Gospel than rejoice that people are being reached. But division doesn't stop the mission. When God calls, obedience matters more than opinion. I'd rather be found preaching the truth than pleasing the crowd.
